2023 Marketing Plan for Real Estate Agents
What is your time worth?
Did you know that an average real estate agent in Texas makes around $92,000 a year? That breaks down to roughly $32/hr on a 40-hour work week. As a real estate agent, you do so much behind the scenes and often, it’s easy to not account for social media content creation as part of that salary. On average, a talent who has decent experience in researching and recording themselves can expect to spend roughly 5-10 hours a week on market research, not including editing, video production, etc..
No matter where you are in your business, whether you’re starting out, or a seasoned seller in the real estate industry, your time is valuable. We believe that there are ways to maximize your time while also making sure the content you create remains bespoke and unique to you and your brand.
How to create a month’s worth of content in 1 day
Most of us are consumers, and it’s not easy for us to stop and actually observe our own natural behavior when we’re on our phones, or looking at advertisements outside. Things just catch our attention, and we make a decision within the first 5 seconds if it matters to us, and if it’s something we either forget or commit to memory. Sometimes, we catch an ad that is freakishly annoying or hear a jingle on the radio that gets stuck in our heads. In either case, we believe in the most valuable real estate above all - mental real estate.
Staying top of mind is something we all struggle with and frequently overcomplicate. That’s why we introduced a new concept called “content nesting”. The best way for you to maximize your time and effort is to start out with what could be a 30-minute recording of you just talking about heavy talking points. Pre-production of your material is key but talk about things that you’re passionate about. Identify what and who your content is for and speak to them in an authentic tone. For example, you may have a potential client who could be in any phase of the buying cycle. The question is, what topic can you speak on that will resonate with them? Remember that one piece of content doesn’t need to hit all of them. That’s why you talk about everything in that one 30-minute recording.
To create a month's worth of social media content in just 1 day, start by creating a content calendar. Decide on the topics you want to cover, and then come up with 3-4 headlines for each topic. Once you have your headlines, create short blurbs (100-200 words) that outline each topic. Finally, create images or videos to accompany your blurbs. By following this process, you'll have a month's worth of social media content in just one day!
From that one 30-minute recording, you can easily introduce at least 10-15 different topics. From those topics, you can trim, hard cut, and turn that into micro-content that you can use to distribute and schedule out for a whole month worth of content - assuming you post 3 times a week. And that’s pre-planned content. You can still post on the days between, or double post, stories, Tiktok. This gives you the freedom to stay agile with the market and stay current without having to worry about the scheduled post. Most importantly, what this does is establish you as an authority figure, and will help you stay top of mind.
There are tons of resources out there for editing, but in the event that you realize that is out of the scope of your skillset, or it isn’t worth the time for you to learn that aspect, we offer a special editing service that specializes in content nesting - but we take it one step further. Within that micro-content you create from that 30-minute recording, we will not only split it up into individual pieces of content by topic, but within each clip, we will reformat it for all social platforms (16x9, 9x16, 1x1) as well as create audiograms, take quotes that resonate within the video you created and make infographics and give you a plethora of content that you can use from just a single recording. If you feel like recording more than 1, even better. Our job is to make content nesting 2nd nature to you and to take the complication of video editing and production out of your hands so you can focus on leveraging and scaling your business.
